YouTube streamer Rachell «Valkyrae» Hofstetter revealed her plans to adopt a baby. Previously, Valkyrae said she probably won't have kids because she's focused on her career, so this decision to adopt might surprise some people.
Hofstetter made a name for herself for her gaming streams on Twitch, though in 2020, Valkyrae made the move to YouTube where she continued getting massive viewership for her Among Us and Valorant streams, among many others. A year later, Valkyrae was named a co-owner of esports organization 100 Thieves, along with fellow streamer CourageJD.

Many fans have admired Valkyrae's success in the streaming space, and how open she has been about helping her family out, like renovating her mom's house and paying for her sister's wedding. Now, Valkyrae's next plan is adopting a baby with her mom. In a tweet, she said that they've been considering for a while and felt that they were ready to «start the long process» of adoption. She explained that her mom would be raising the baby, while the streamer will provide financial support. Valkyrae also referred to the baby as «another little sibling,» squashing any ideas that this will be her own child.
In the replies, many of Valkyrae's friends and fans, some of whom were adopted themselves, offered helpful advice on raising an adopted baby. Fellow YouTube streamer Myth, who has openly talked about being in an adopted family, recommended letting the child know that they're adopted «from the earliest age possible,» and to always reassure them that they are family no matter what.
