The fifth and final season of Stranger Things is reportedly set to begin filming this June, according to actor David Harbour.
Harbour, who plays Jim Hopper in the Netflix series, shared the news at the Middle East Film and Comic Con in Abu Dhabi this weekend (via Collider) and spoke about what the upcoming series has in store for his character.
«We're walking into season five. I've got a couple more months to train,» he said. «We start shooting that in June, though, and that will be the final season. I did a lot of training for season four. He [Hopper] was in a very specific position, that Russian prison.
»It was about making him a different guy and sort of shedding a layer of himself physically, mentally, and emotionally. But now he's back in town, he's back in America where they have cheeseburgers, so he will be well-fed."
Despite Harbour's announcement, Stranger Things star Noah Schnapp, who plays Will Byers, said back in January that he begins shooting in May. It's likely that both actors have a separate shooting schedule, as Harbour noted that he has a couple more months to train.
Stranger Things creators Matt and Ross Duffer have confirmed that Season 5 will be the final one for the series. It's unclear at this time when Season 5 will air on Netflix.
