A new Palworld mod that was released online today enables some ray tracing features, improves ambient occlusion and shadow quality and more.
The RTX Ray tracing and DirectX12 For Your Pals mod, which can be downloaded from Nexus Mods, is a modified configuration file that enables some ray tracing functions, changes the rendering API to DirectX 12, and improves visuals by increasing native rendering from 100% to 120%, removing fog, increasing quality of the PostFX effects, increasing Anisotropic Filtering to x16 and more. The enabling of ray tracing features and some of the tweaks impact performance considerably, so try it out only if you have a powerful GPU.
Palworld is becoming one of the most popular survival games released in recent times and has sold over 8 million copies on Steam alone since its release last week. The game has also become somewhat controversial due to the Pals, which heavily resemble Pokémon. The Pokémon Company addressed the game, saying that they will investigate possible copyright infringement, but it's unlikely they will be able to do much else other than taking down Pokémon-inspired mods.
Palworld is now available on PC, Xbox One, Xbox Series X, and Xbox Series S worldwide. The game is also part of the Xbox Game Pass library.
