Following the growing popularity of Palworld, developer Pocketpair has revealed its roadmap for the game. Despite being merely days into launch, Palworld is already a massive hit with its demand showing no signs of slowing down. As the numbers keep piling up, the studio is now offering a glimpse of what players can expect from the game in the coming months.
Palworld's rising popularity over the past few days has been unprecedented, particularly with the game's exclusivity to PC and Xbox. The "Pokemon with guns" title managed to cross 2 million in sales in 24 hours, edging up to 7 million within five days. It now holds the record for the second-highest peak player count on Steam with Palworld overtaking Counter-Strike 2, accounting for over 1.85 million players. While it remains to be seen how long the game will sustain this massive player base, the studio appears to be making plans already.
In a tweet, Pocketpair unveiled its roadmap for Palworld. As per the developers, the game will be getting new content in the form of new islands, new Pals, and bosses. More importantly, Palworld will add PvP, a Pal Arena, and Xbox-Steam crossplay among other updates. The studio will also bring raid bosses as part of its end-game content for Palworld. However, Pocketpair has yet to reveal the timelines for these additions.
It's worth noting that prior to the new in-game content, the studio stated it would prioritize numerous issues currently hindering Palworld. According to Pocketpair, the game is currently experiencing «many problems due to excessive access congestion» after sales far exceeded the development team's own expectations. The studio has already been patching up issues with Palworld and its latest post hints that it may start ramping up efforts. This means that Pocketpair will address bugs, loading screen issues, and other improvements such as upgrading base Pal AI and pathing.
