Despite the almost complete silence on the game, Metroid Prime 4 could be released this year, according to rumors circulating online.
Speaking during a recent Giant Bomb podcast, well-known leaker Jeff Grubb commented on the fourth entry in the series, saying that the source that informed him of Epic Mickey Rebrushed, which was confirmed during yesterday's Nintendo Direct, also revealed that Metroid Prime 4 will launch this year. While plans may change, there's a good indication that the game is at least getting revealed soon, as Nintendo was apparently looking to get assets ready for May 2024, possibly ahead of another proper Nintendo Direct.
With so many rumors saying that Metroid Prime 4 is almost ready for release, something must surely be brewing. Last month, we heard that playtesting has been conducted since March 2023, so a proper reveal of the game may not be too far off. This lines up with another rumor from December, which said the game was internally delayed due to poor cutscene quality and that it is still targeting the original Switch. With rumors saying the new Nintendo console is now launching in 2025, Metroid Prime 4 would be a great way to spice up the Switch's lineup for the second half of the year, which is essentially empty right now.
Metroid Prime 4 is now in development for Nintendo Switch. We will keep you updated on the game as soon as more come in on it, so stay tuned for all the latest news.
