A new secret in has been uncovered, revealing what seems to be a tragic tale of unrequited love expressed via a hidden letter. The award-winning RPG by Larian Studios was critically acclaimed at launch due to its immersive world built on delicate storytelling, a lot of freedom when making narrative and gameplay choices, and multiple endings for not only the main campaign but also several of the side stories available, from Act 1 all the way to the end of Act 3. The main character’s companions and their individual stories are also notable aspects of the game.
Players can choose to romance characters in as they develop their relationship with these adventuring partners, but love is not exclusive to the main character and their allies. In fact, there are several other noteworthy couples in the lands of Faerûn, as well as hints of possible romances. One such hint was discovered in a secret love letter dedicated to Minthara, though this love is most likely unreciprocated due to the nature of the letter’s intended recipient. The detail has been in the game for a while, but it gained traction after viralizing because of a post.
As highlighted in a post made by a Reddit user, there is a love letter dedicated to Minthara within the Goblin Camp. The item, called Love Letter Notes, is located in a shrine behind the waterfall underneath the camp. It is a scribble of ideas for poetry that describes and praises Minthara’s very existence. This scrap of paper is believed to belong to Klagga, a goblin who is notably in love with Minthara in . Even though the love letter is not signed by him, there are two other items nearby that confirm it belongs to Klagga.
For reference, Klagga is the only goblin in the camp wearing pants – likely in an attempt to attract Minthara’s attention.
