An Overwatch 2 fan had an impressive piece of fan art commissioned that imagines what a Fallout-themed Mercy skin might look like in the hero-shooter game. The original Overwatch featured all kinds of unique skins for players to unlock for the game's various heroes, but it largely stayed away from crossover skins. That has changed with Overwatch 2, which has embraced crossover skins as part of the game's live-service model.
Overwatch 2 crossovers so far have seen new skins added based on popular anime like One Punch Man and Cowboy Bebop, as well as skins based on the K-Pop group LE SSERAFIM. A future Overwatch 2 crossover will see the game crossing paths with Porsche, but it seems fans would also like to see the game eventually add skins inspired by Bethesda's post-apocalyptic RPG franchise Fallout.
Fallout fever is at an all-time high, largely thanks to the success of the Amazon TV series, which has in turned inspired many players to return to their favorite Fallout games. Considering how popular Fallout is currently, now would be the perfect time for other games to add crossover content inspired by the franchise. A potential idea for this is explored in commissioned fan art shared by Reddit user RenDesuu, who had art made that imagines a Mercy skin inspired by Fallout. The «Nuka-Girl Mercy» skin concept imagines a new outfit for Mercy, as well as a staff themed after the Fallout universe soda brand Nuka-Cola.
The post has over 800 upvotes at the time of this writing, with other users chiming in with their own ideas for possible Overwatch 2Fallout skins. Some of the more popular suggestions include a Cassidy skin inspired by The Ghoul from the Fallout show, a Brotherhood of Steel skin for Reinhardt, a Vault Dweller skin for Soldier: 76, an NCR skin for Widowmaker, and Super Mutant skin for Winston.
Before Overwatch 2 fans get too excited about the idea of Fallout skins coming to the game, it should be stressed that no such collaboration has actually been announced
