Netflix has officially announced that its hit teen-adventure drama has been renewed for Season 5, which will also serve as the series’ final chapter. The streaming platform and cast members are preparing for the release of the show’s Season 4 Part 2, which will be out on November 7. Following the announcement, Chase Stokes, who plays the role of John B on the show, shared a message on Instagram, expressing his gratitude to fans.
Netflix’s Outer Banks is set to conclude with Season 5, as confirmed by its creators, Shannon Burke, Jonas Pate, and Josh Pate in an official statement.
In the statement, the trio said, “From this beginning, we imagined a mystery that would lead to a five-season journey of adventure, treasure hunting, and friendship. At the time, seven years ago, it seemed impossible that we would really get to tell the whole five season story.” They further revealed that Season 4 took them a lot of time to make and was one of the most difficult seasons to work on. However, they asserted that it was also “most rewarding to produce.”
The creators also spilled some details about the Season 4 finale, and stated, “The season ends with a feature length episode, which we think is our best, most powerful episode.” Further, they assured viewers of a sensational Season 5 of Outer Banks to be in the works and added, “We’re putting Season Four behind us, and are turning to Season Five, in which we hope to bring our beloved Pogues home in the way we imagined and planned years ago. Season Five will be our last season, and we think it will be our best yet.”
The announcement was also shared by actor Chase Stokes in an Instagram post, and he also expressed his feelings in the caption. He wrote, “My hearts heavy writing this one… One last ride. Thank you to everybody who has tuned in these past 5 years. You’ve given us more than we could ever give back to you.”
Alongside Chase, Outer Banks also features Rudy Pankow, Madelyn Cline, Jonathan Daviss, and others, in key roles.
