During our escapades in Azj-Kahet, we meet Orweyna and the mysterious Haranir. While their time in the main story is brief, players can quest with Orweyna further to learn more about these mysterious protectors as they investigate the Black Blood.
We initially met Orweyna during our first expedition into Azj-Kahet, along with the Arathi and Alleria, in search of Anduin. While we help her clean up a small amount of the Black Blood's corruption and see her confronted by her fellow Haranir, she quickly departs afterwards, wishing us luck on our journey.
After completing the leveling campaign, we can again find Orweyna in the region, this time at Wildcamp Ul'ar just outside the City of Threads. We don't find her alone this time, however, as she is accompanied by another Haranir named Hannan. Despite his presence around the player and the nearby Arathi, he seems eager to avoid us in the same vein as all the other Haranir we've encountered.
Orweyna seems no less willing to work with us again, however, and despite Hannan's protests, she tasks us with investigating how the nerubians are manipulating the Black Blood, and how they are keeping themselves safe from its corrupting influence.
As we investigate the nearby extraction site and the tools the nerubians are using, Orweyna expresses her increasing shock at just how pervasive the nerubian's are already, while Hannan expresses his continued trepidation at embarking on this task. Along the way, we discover that the nerubians use tuning devices to emit a resonance that disperses the Black Blood, in order to keep their sanity — a tool that will be of much use to us later on.
Additionally, you can ask Orweyna why the Black Blood is of such consequence, and she explains that its corruption does not merely alter the mind, but shifts its victim into a realm known as 'the Unseeming'. Though she explains little here, we learn much more about this mysterious realm as the quests progress. She
