It seems like the custom chip segment will experience a massive layer of development in the upcoming years as the AI industry looks toward it for the future of computing. Firms such as NVIDIA and Intel have already started to divert their focus towards developing custom chips for companies such as Microsoft and Google. In an interview, Jensen Huang disclosed the fact that NVIDIA does see custom chips as a market opportunity, claiming that it brings "terrific" performance improvements to the clients involved:

Industry behemoths such as Microsoft and Meta are currently dominating the AI space. They are already in the race to develop their custom AI chips to combat the level of competition in the markets. NVIDIA and other chip manufacturers see this as a huge opportunity, giving companies the required services to fulfill their custom chip needs. It was reported that Team Green had formed a new business unit focusing on the R&D of custom chips, and it is a matter of time before this unit comes into implementation and then plays a vital role in the future of AI computing.
Intel has also recently expressed its intentions of opening towards custom chip orders, claiming that the firm is ready to provide every service to its potential clients, ranging from semiconductor sourcing to packaging technologies. This shows that custom chip markets hold considerable potential moving ahead, and they are expected to grow to a whopping $30 billion in 2023, providing firms yet again another AI-like opportunity, depending upon how they execute their plans.
