Nintendo has launched a brand new Nintendo Music app, putting a big bundle of game soundtracks into the hands of Nintendo Switch Online subscribers.
That’s right, hot on the heels of that alarm clock, this is a new perk for subscribers to Nintendo Switch Online, letting us all more legitimately delve into the soundtracks for a good selection of Nintendo games – as opposed to, you know, just looking them up on YouTube.
There’s some modern greats included, with Breath of the Wild and Animal Crossing: New Horizons sure to get an awful lot of playtime, but you can also head back to all-timers like the original Super Mario Bros., Metroid, and fan favourites with Nintendogs and the Wii Channels music – yes, the music from the console menus, from when Nintendo still had fun console menus.
Personally, I think this is great, and I can’t wait to see how Nintendo will expand and grow the line up. Sure, they can fill out the library with more obvious soundtracks, but I’d love to see some oddments like the Cadence of Hyrule collaboration make an appearance, and collaborations with third parties.
