In Patch 1.1.0, Blizzard majorly buffed the loot drop rates for Nightmare Dungeons including a major buff to the completion rewards, an extra bonus to the Ancestral and Sacred item drop rate, and an overall chance for extra equipment. Let's take a look at all the changes.

Nightmare Dungeons now give 3 rare items upon completion, up from 1.Patch 1.0.3 resolved a lot of the issues players had about Nightmare Dungeons being lackluster for experience farming, but additional concerns have arisen about loot acquisition compared to other endgame activities. The loot explosion when opening a Helltide chest or a Tree of Whispers cache often felt more impactful and easier to achieve then completing Nightmare Dungeons. The above Diablo IV Patch 1.1.0 changes look to really address those concerns by making Nightmare Dungeons one of the most lucrative activities a player can be doing in Diablo IV.
At the higher World Tiers, the Ancestral and Sacred item chase becomes your primary source of upgrades. The higher acquisition rate in Nightmare Dungeons should make the endgame activity feel more lucrative.
