Some World of Warcraft players think a new Druid Wrath spell effect used in the Gilneas Reclamation questline might be a teaser for the Hero Talents coming in The War Within. While fans can’t be sure yet, it is possible World of Warcraft Druids may gain access to this lunar-themed spell in the Elune’s Chosen Hero Talent when the next expansion drops.
Hero Talents are one of the major features coming in The War Within, World of Warcraft’s next expansion pack. These special talent trees will be unlocked from levels 71 through 80 and will allow players to customize their class and specialization abilities with iconic powers from Warcraft history. These upgrades will also reportedly change the special effects of certain spells and abilities, such as the lightning-infused attacks of the Mountain Thane Warrior.
That said, some of these new Hero Talent spell effects might already be in World of Warcraft right now. Patch 10.2.5, Seeds of Renewal, introduced the Reclaiming Gilneas questline where the Worgen of World of Warcraft take back their home. During the questline, Celestine of the Harvest and Belysra Starbreeze, a Worgen Druid and Night Elf Priestess, use Wrath to fight off the Scarlet Crusade. However, rather than the usual solar yellow spell animation, they launch blasts of lunar blue energy instead. This has led players like Ian “The Red Shirt Guy” Bates to wonder if this spell effect will be used by the Elune’s Chosen Hero Talent option for Druids.
There are a few other related lunar spell effects that were added in Patch 10.2.5 as well. In Bel’ameth, the new Night Elf village in World of Warcraft, several Priestesses of the Moon, Druids, and even Delas Moonfang, the first Night Elf Paladin, can be seen kneeling while bathed in glowing lunar light.
