Former Xbox console exclusives Hi-Fi Rush and Sea of Thieves are both confirmed to be coming to PS5 in the coming months. Hi-Fi Rush is slated to make the jump to PS5 on March 19 with Sea of Thieves joining later on April 30.
Microsoft recently announced that Xbox would soon be bringing four games to other platforms. Leadership at Xbox declined to confirm the specific titles and release dates at the time, but it appears fans didn't have to wait long before an official announcement was made. Despite rumors claiming Xbox would move major AAA titles like Starfield to other platforms, leadership asserted that the four former exclusives would consist of two smaller-scale games and two community-focused experiences.
Xbox announced that Hi-Fi Rush and Sea of Thieves will soon release on PS5. After releasing just last year, Hi-Fi Rush is headed to PS5 on March 19. The stylish rhythm action title garnered excellent reviews and easily ranks among the highest-rated games of 2023. Sea of Thieves, on the other hand, is an open-world multiplayer pirate game from Rare that has been around since 2018. Sea of Thieves will be coming to PS5 on April 30, and is slated to support cross-play with Xbox consoles and PC.
Former Xbox console exclusives Pentiment and Grounded will also be making the jump to PS5 in the coming months. While Hi-Fi Rush and Sea of Thieves are coming to PS5 only at this time, Grounded and Pentiment will also be launching on PS4 and Nintendo Switch. Like Sea of Thieves, Grounded will support cross-play with other platforms.
When Xbox announced that four former exclusives would be making their way to other platforms, leadership emphasized that this move did not signal a change of strategy for the brand.
