A new Silent Hill: Ascension trailer just dropped. The nearly two-minute-long video gives us some more insight into some of the characters in the upcoming interactive streaming event, though probably leaves us with more questions than answers.
From the trailer, we get some snippets of two stories and the people and families involved. You might be surprised to find they come from a rather diverse set of locations.
First, we travel to a coastal village in Norway and meet Astrid Johansen, of the Johansen family, who insists very much that she didn’t kill her son. Saying that alone raised our suspicion that she did, in fact, kill her son. Maybe we’ve misjudged her.
We find a second family in the Silent Hill: Ascension trailer, the Hernandez family of Pennsylvania, with one of its members being even more sus. A woman standing over an ancient anatomical diagram, mulling over an apparent… mistake?
“I did everything correctly. Exactly as I was taught. Every word. Every cut. But what I saw? It was something new, something we don’t understand.”
What exactly involves old texts, diagrams of organs, and a very non-sterile knife we can’t say. We’re more curious about what she expected from some kind of occult surgery than what resulted.
We see twisted figures wrapped in barbed wire, misty landscapes covered in falling snow or ash. There’s even something that looks weirdly like a demodog from Stranger Things.
It’s all kicking off, and we’re along for the ride.
Silent Hill: Ascension is an upcoming interactive event that kicks off on Halloween and runs news stories each day, with the participation of the whole player base affecting how the story will play out. Who lives, who dies, and what the canon will be when the dust settles is down
