Behaviour Interactive has released a brand-new update for the asymmetrical multiplayer horror game Dead by Daylight that actually reduces the overall file size for the PS5 and Xbox Series X versions. As a live service game, Dead by Daylight is supported with frequent updates. The more exciting updates add brand-new Killers and Survivors to the mix, but there are equally important updates that address balance issues, fix bugs, and more.
Developer Behaviour Interactive has just released a massive new update for Dead by Daylight that users can download right now. The big new feature is Dead by Daylight upgrading to Unreal Engine 5, which won't have any immediately noticeable benefit to players, but will serve «as a foundation for possible future improvements.» The update also introduces a new store and makes some other changes, one which greatly benefits PS5 and Xbox Series X gamers.
In a world where video game file sizes continue to balloon out of control, it's always great whenever a game can reduce its file size. This is especially true for live-service titles, as gamers may feel the need to have multiple of them installed at once to play with their friends. As of the latest update, PS5 and Xbox Series X gamers will notice that the overall file size for Dead by Daylight has been reduced by a whopping 18GB on Xbox Series X and PlayStation 5.
PS5 and Xbox Series X gamers will also get to enjoy everything else that comes as part of the latest Dead by Daylight update. Besides the aforementioned switch to Unreal Engine 5 and the new store, the update also changes The Twins Killer. Behaviour previously updated The Twins, but the changes proved to be controversial, hence the latest update to them. It's possible more tweaking will be necessary, though the same goes for any Dead by Daylight Killer.
