Ubisoft has announced that a new cinematic trailer will debut for Assassin’s Creed Codename Red on May 15th at 9 AM PT. It also confirmed the official title – Assassin’s Creed Shadows – while revealing a massive hourglass display (complete with red grains of sand) counting down in Japan.
The new trailer could announce a gameplay reveal for Ubisoft Forward on June 10th, which Insider Gaming’s Tom Henderson previously reported on. It also seems that hands-on impressions will go live on June 12th, so expect even more details that week. Of course, there’s no reason that the title couldn’t also appear at the Summer Game Fest showcase or Xbox Games Showcase.
Assassin’s Creed Shadows takes place in Feudal Japan and offers two playable characters – a shinobi and a samurai. Despite going the open-world action RPG route like Assassin’s Creed Origins, Odyssey and Valhalla, it emphasizes more stealth-based gameplay. Though Ubisoft hasn’t announced a release date, it’s confirmed to arrive this fiscal year, i.e. by March 31st, 2025. Head here for more rumored details on what it could offer.
