Patch 6 forBaldur's Gate 3 released on February 16 and introduced new kissing animations, easier companion dismissal, more Legendary Actions for Honour Mode, new idle animations at camp, and more. This was Baldur's Gate 3's first major update since its Patch 5 in November 2023, so many fans were looking forward to the new content. However, some fans became disappointed after the update seemed to introduce many more bugs than features.
Reddit user twili-midna expressed their frustration with a post to the Baldur's Gate 3 subreddit titled «It's genuinely unacceptable how broken Patch 6 is.» They explained that the update's many game-breaking bugs and removal of previous features have made the game noticeably worse. Following the update, Game Rant's own testing saw many crashing issues while playing Act 3. It seems that these issues are widespread, as many commenters in the Reddit post explained that they are also dealing with serious problems following the new update. One PS5 user even reported that every character in the game attacks them now, including companions and vendors.
Users also highlight that some previous features, like being able to select multiple items while trading or the «send to» specification, have been intentionally removed with the newest update, leading to more disapproval from fans. As for Patch 6's bugs, it's not yet clear when fans can expect a hotfix, but hopefully it will arrive sooner rather than later.
