Warner Bros. Games will hold Mortal Kombat 1’s online server stress test this month.
It will launch on June 23 at 8am PT / 11am ET / 4pm BST / 5pm CEST and end at the same time on June 26.
Players can still register for a chance to participate, with invites due to be distributed to randomly selected players on June 21.
Only players based in North America, Latin America, Brazil and Europe are eligible to take part in the test.
It will be available on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S only, as will the game’s separate beta test.
The stress test will support 1 vs. 1 online multiplayer and a limited single-player Klassic Towers mode against AI opponents.
“The purpose is to deliberately stress our online infrastructure and identify potential issues ahead of the game’s launch,” Warner said in an FAQ.
Players who pre-order the game for PS5 or Xbox Series X/S will receive access to the game’s beta test, which is due to take place in August.
NetherRealm is developing the current-gen console versions of the game and overseeing development of the PC and Nintendo Switch versions, which are being handled by QLOC and Shiver Entertainment / Saber Interactive respectively.
Announced last month and set for release on September 19, the game “will introduce a reborn Mortal Kombat Universe that has been created by the Fire God Liu Kang, featuring reimagined versions of iconic characters as they’ve never been seen before”.
Players who buy Mortal Kombat 1’s Premium Edition or Kollector’s Edition will get early access to the game beginning on September 14.
These two editions of the game also include a Kombat Pack offering early access to six new playable characters.
