Capcom’s latest Monster Hunter Wilds showcase has delved into more biome and monster reveals for the much anticipated new game, as well as confirming an open beta test that will take place next week across PS5, Xbox Series X|S and PC.

Let’s cut to the chase, the Monster Hunter Wilds Open Beta Test will take place at the following dates and times next week, with PS Plus subscribers getting a two days early access window.
PS Plus and Xbox Game Pass subscriptions are not required for the wider open beta from 1st November, but will be for the full game next year.
The open beta test will feature three parts: the complete character creation tool (which you can transfer to the full game), a Story Trial from the opening of the game with tutorials and a Chatacabra hunt, and the free-roaming Doshaguma Hunt where you can pursue the Doshaguma pack or explore the Windward Plains.
It will feature full cross-play between all platforms, and take part will award players with a bonus pendant to decorate their weapons or Seikret mount in the full game.

And then for the new gameplay reveals and details from the stream. Capcom dipped a toe in to the Oilwell Basin, named after the boiling oil wells that feature in this region. These can cause firestorms during periods known as Firespring, making the world dangerous in its own right!
Here the newly revealed Brute Wyvern Rompopolo (not as cute as it sounds) is on the prowl, expelling toxic gas to weaken prey, both from its mouth and by injecting gas into the tar on the ground. Lovely. Ajarakan also live here, the two species often vying for terrirory. The Ajarakan is a fanged beast with a thick shell to cover itself in high temperature armour.
