The Game Awards has seen plenty of big announcements this year, though few will be as grand as Capcom's reveal of Monster Hunter Wilds, the next big title in the series which is launching at some point in 2025 for PC, PS5, and Xbox Series X.
The trailer itself was pretty short and sweet, which showcased a look at the world we'll more than likely be exploring, along with a shot of a character riding and flying on an animal. A lot of what is shown appears to be direct gameplay footage, showing off the game's incredible weather systems and the large variety of monsters that we'll get to discover when we get our hands on the game.
Unfortunately, those are the only details we have so far, as Capcom wasn't too keen on showing off too much in the trailer itself. Thankfully, it was announced on stage after the reveal of the trailer that more information will be shared during a showcase next summer, presumably one of Capcom's own, rather than Summer Game Fest or Gamescom Opening Night Live.
Monster Hunter fans will no doubt be excited about the reveal though, as it looks like we're finally getting the first meaty Monster Hunter adventure to sink our teeth into since Monster Hunter World in 2018. While we've had other smaller titles and expansions since then, it'll be nice to finally get our hands on a big multi-platform Monster Hunter game for the first time in quite a few years.
Monster Hunter Wilds was the last big announcement of the night, but it certainly wasn't a show bereft of cool reveals. For starters, we got a first look at Arkane Lyon's new title, which is going to be based on the Marvel superhero Blade, even though it was only a very brief CGI trailer.
