Capcom has lit a rocket under The Game Awards 2023 with the announcement of Monster Hunter Wild, the next entry in the blockbusting monster-battling series that is coming out in 2025.
The trailer shows a player riding a new bird-like creature through a desert storm and of course, a lot of monsters, but that’s about it.
Monster Hunter Wild will follow more in the footsteps of Monster Hunter World than Monster Hunter Rise. In other words, there’s no Switch exclusivity here, and Capcom can dream big with their push for cutting edge visuals that helped to make World such a huge success.
Of course, the game will be building on the gameplay of Monster Hunter Rise, so expect Wirebugs, Palamutes and more alongside whatever new ideas that Capcom have cooked up here.
Since you’ve got a bit of time to kill before the next game is out, why not play some Monster Hunter Rise again? After all, it’s out on PS5 and Xbox Series, and Dom said of the port, “Monster Hunter Rise remains one of the best action-RPGs of recent years, and the PS5 release is a perfect example of what should be going into this kind of port.”
There’s an official website up but it’s not got any further details of the game.
