Monster Hunter Rise’s crossover Sonic DLC won’t be downloadable from January, even if you own it
Capcom has announced that some of the collaboration DLC in Monster Hunter Rise will be delisted in January.
Collaborations with Sonic the Hedgehog, Universal Studios Japan, and Sengan-en will no longer be available in the game after January 21, 2024.
Players who’ve already downloaded the content will be able to continue to use it.
However, whereas most games and content that are delisted are still available to redownload after they’re gone, this isn’t the case here.
Capcom stresses: “Please download this free content before [January 21] to keep using it as normal. You won’t be able to redownload it.”
The following content will be delisted:
Sonic the Hedgehog
Universal Studios Japan
Sengan-en
This is likely due to the expiration of a licensing agreement for the content, but it’s unclear why the content won’t be re-downloadable for owners.

Capcom’s Monster Hunter Rise expansion, Sunbreak, took thetop prize at the Japan Game Awards earlier this year.
The expansion, first released for PC and Nintendo Switch last year and ported to other consoles earlier this year, picked up the Grand Award during the ceremony, which is run annually by Japan’s Computer Entertainment Supplier’s Association (CESA) and partially voted for by the public.
Elsewhere in Capcom news, the publisher confirmed the release date of Dragon’s Dogma 2 on Tuesday.
