The development of Metroid Prime 4 is almost complete, and it's only one specific issue that is holding the game from release, according to rumors circulating online.
According to PapaGenos, as reported on the Gaming Leaks and Rumors subreddit, the development of the fourth entry in the series is basically done and has been for a good while. What's delaying the game is the quality of the cutscenes, which are said to be really bad. Additionally, the game is still targeting a release on the original Nintendo Switch, suggesting its release may not be too far off in the future, considering the next Nintendo console is supposedly launching next year.
While PapaGenos proved to be quite reliable lately in regards to Nintendo rumors, we have to take everything with a grain of salt until a Metroid Prime 4 release window is confirmed.
Metroid Prime 4's development has been quite troubled, to say the least. The game was announced back in 2017, with Bandai Namco developing the game. Two years later, development was rebooted and handed over to series creator Retro Studios. Nothing has been said about the game since, and the only information came from job ads, which suggest how the game may feature a more involved narrative.
Metroid Prime 4 is now in development for Nintendo Switch. We will keep you updated on the game as soon as more come in on it, so stay tuned for all the latest news.
