Metal Gear Solid: Master Collection Vol.1 To Release This October on PC and Consoles, Including Switch
The Metal Gear Solid: Master Collection Vol.1, which will include all the main entries in the series up to Snake Eater, is launching this October on PC and consoles, publisher Konami confirmed today.
The Collection will release on October 24th worldwide on PC, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X, and Xbox Series S, as well as on Nintendo Switch, as confirmed during today's Nintendo Direct. A new trailer was also released to showcase the collection and its bonus content, and you can check it out below. Pre-orders will also begin today.
Alongside the three 3D games, the Master Collection Vol.1 will also include the very first two entries in the series - Metal Gear and Metal Gear 2: Solid Snake. The latter has aged rather well, so it is nice to hear that more players will be able to enjoy what is essentially a 2D version of MGS.
The Master Collection Vol.1 is only one part of the long-anticipated series revival, as Konami is working on a full-fledged remake of Snake Eater called Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater. While series' creator Hideo Kojima will not be involved in the development, the reveal trailer looked extremely convincing, so hopefully, the remake will do justice to one of the best games ever released.
