References to Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots, Peace Walker, and Metal Gear Solid 5: The Phantom Pain have been found in the Metal Gear Solid: Master Collection files.
Metal Gear Solid: The Master Collection, a collection including re-releases of MGS1, MGS2, and MGS3, was released today across various platforms, and an eagle-eyed Reddit user took up the task to scour through the game files of the collection. Interestingly, as posted by 'TImo653' on Reddit, multiple strings related to MGS4, Peace Walker, and MGS5 were discovered in the scripts of the Metal Gear Solid 2 Master Collection launcher. "There's a function for finding the right path to read assets for", 'Timo653' writes on Reddit. "They have listings for all the Volume 1 games, but also 4, 5, and Peace Walker, hinting that those may actually be part of the rumored Vol 2."

Shortly after the announcement of The Master Collection Vol. 1, Konami updated its website for the collection, featuring a manual for Metal Gear Solid which happened to include a screenshot of Guns of the Patriots. Interestingly, the website also featured a timeline with clickable buttons with placeholder buttons for MGS4, Peace Walker, and MGS5: The Phantom Pain. With this in mind, and Konami naming the now-released collection "Vol. 1", there are strong indications that the publisher indeed intends to release a second collection with re-releases of Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots, Peace Walker, and Metal Gear Solid 5: The Phantom Pain through Metal Gear Solid: The Master Collection
