Meta has announced a new game subscription called Meta Quest+ for players to use, and it'll work similarly to Xbox Live Gold or PlayStation Plus.
Subscribing to Meta Quest+ costs $8 a month, or you can pay an annual fee of $60. Thanks to a Meta blog post, we know that if you sign up before July 31, your first month will cost only a dollar. You'll get two games that you can redeem on the first of each month, and as long as you're subscribed to the service, you'll have access to all of the games added. According to the blog post, each month will have «a value of up to $60 USD.»
Meta already has the first few games lined up. For July, you'll be able to play Pistol Whip, an action-rhythm FPS, and Pixel Ripped 1995. And in August, you can download and play Walkabout Mini Golf and Mothergunship: Forge. Meta Quest+ will be compatible with the Quest 2, Quest Pro, and Quest 3 (once it launches this fall).
The Quest 3 was officially announced in early June, with the 128GB version will cost $500. In addition to costing as much as a PlayStation 5 or Xbox Series X, the Quest 3 Snapdragon chipset power will deliver more than twice the performance of the Quest 2. It'll also be 40% slimmer, and the controllers will have a new design. More details on the Quest 3 will be shared at Meta Connect on September 27.
