Marvel's Spider-Man 2 is the next entry in Insomniac Games' Spider-Verse, and it could be the catalyst for a number of expansions to the developer's exploration of Marvel Comics, perhaps even a sequel to Miles Morales. The game is set to feature both Peter Parker and Miles Morales as protagonists, with the crime-fighting duo on truly equal footing for the first time. With this entry in the franchise serving as the debut of Miles as a fully-fledged Spider-Man, it could very well be a springboard for his next adventures, perhaps in the form of his own standalone sequel.

Miles has been in Insomniac's universe from the beginning, acting as a supporting character in Marvel's Spider-Man and gaining powers during its final act. Then, in Marvel's Spider-Man: Miles Morales, Peter entrusts Miles with protecting New York while he and Mary Jane take a work trip abroad. While Peter is gone, Miles' powers become arguably better than Peter's, but he has to contend with learning to control these new abilities while also facing his first major threat as a hero. By the end of the game, Miles solidifies his self-confidence and gains the support of Harlem, and New York City as a whole, as his own Spider-Man.

While Marvel's Spider-Man: Miles Morales was a strong first showing for the superhero, it was essentially a prologue to his crime-fighting career.
