One key feature that could be implemented to improve the open world of Marvel's Spider-Man 2 would be to include other New York boroughs like Queens and Brooklyn. Marvel's Spider-Man introduced Insomniac's version of Manhattan, with Spider-Man: Miles Morales changing the map slightly for winter. However, the sequel game can expand upon this by including other boroughs. Queens is synonymous with Peter Parker as that's where he grew up, whereas Miles Morales hails from Brooklyn. Having them in the sequel would not only mean a bigger and more impressive map, but could also bring story significance to both Spider-men.
Released in 2018, Marvel's Spider-Man was Insomniac Games' first dive into the Marvel Universe. Boasting impressive web-swinging gameplay and a beautiful story, the PlayStation exclusive was a major success, becoming one of the highest-selling games on the PlayStation 4. A spin-off game focused on webhead-in-training and Peter Parker's protégé, Miles Morales, was released later in 2020. The two games have become massive successes and are widely known for their stellar gameplay mechanics and unique stories.

Considering how Marvel's Spider-Man 2 may have Mary-Jane and Peter living in their new home in Queens, it would make sense for the borough to be a part of the sequel game's new map. Queens is of course where Peter grew up, and the post-game for Marvel's Spider-Man: Miles Morales hinted at said map change by revealing that Peter was moving into a new place in Queens. It would be unusual not to be able to visit this new home in Marvel's Spider-Man 2, as now Peter has an incentive to go back across to Queens that wasn't there in the first game.
