Sony has showcased The Last of Us Part 2 Remastered’s new No Return mode and opened pre-orders for the game’s special edition.
Along with a trio of ‘Lost Levels’ featuring playable sequences previously cut from the game, single-player roguelike survival mode No Return is one of the headline new features included in the PS5 remaster.
A trailer for No Return, which lets players step into the shoes of several Last of Us characters for the first time, is viewable below.

“Survive as long as you can in each run, as you choose your path through a series of randomized encounters featuring different foes and memorable locations from throughout Part II, all culminating in tense boss battles,” reads an official description of the mode,
“Unique gameplay modifiers can offer new and unexpected challenges as you fight to succeed – and survive – in a host of different encounter types.
“Play as Ellie, Abby, and a variety of unlockable characters, including never-before-playable characters like Dina, Jesse, Lev, and Tommy and more, each with unique traits to offer a variety of playstyles, and unlock skins for them as you progress to use in the mode.”
Ahead of Last of Us Part 2 Remastered’s release on January 19, 2024, Sony has today opened pre-orders for the game’s $99.99 / £99.99 WLF Edition, which is available exclusively through PlayStation Direct in the US and Europe.
It includes 47 Society of Champions trading cards with eight limited edition holographic cards, a Washington Liberation Front patch, a set of four enamel pins and a steelbook display case.
