Baldur's Gate 3 developer Larian Studios is in talks with Microsoft over Xbox players getting banned for uploading explicit in-game content.
Several days ago we reported on a post from an Xbox Baldur's Gate 3 player who seemingly got banned for one year after explicit Baldur's Gate 3 gameplay clips were automatically uploaded to Microsoft's servers. After the user was banned, he/she asked Microsoft to look into the issue, but apparently, the enforcement was "warranted". At least, that's what Microsoft support is said to have said afterward.
On X, Larian's Director of Publishing, Michael Douse (@Cromwelp), has now said that the team is currently in discussion with Microsoft about this rather "annoying" and "uncool" issue for Baldur's Gate 3 Xbox players. "We’ve seen the reports that some players got banned or otherwise faced issues on Xbox having uploaded screenshots/videos of their ‘gameplay content’", Douse writes. "We’re in discussion with Microsoft, and we’re looking into it. Annoying and uncool."
Larian's Director of Publishing added that, for the time being, mature content within Baldur's Gate 3 can be turned off in the game's in-game options.

Douse also said that the team is focusing on ensuring that players, no matter the platform, are having a good time playing Baldur's Gate 3. "We focus solely on trying to ensure players are having a good time, no matter where they buy it", he said. "So nah not down, just busy :)"
