Although it might seem like a herculean task to figure out who the most iconic character in gaming is, that's exactly what the BAFTA Games Awards have done ahead of its 20th show next month. Earlier this year, the BAFTA Games Awards opened a poll asking gamers to vote on who they thought was the most well-known character in gaming.
Today, the results from the poll (which saw over 4,000 votes) were shared on the official BAFTA website, revealing that audiences think that Lara Croft is the all-time most iconic character in gaming. The results don't reveal what percentage of votes Lara Croft got, but it's still a massive achievement that shows how important she is to gaming, even if she's had a bit of a rougher time of it in recent years.
