A Fallout 3 fan has built the iconic location of Megaton in Far Cry 5 Arcade mode. Many Far Cry 5 fans have used the Arcade tools to build unique things, but this may be the most impressive Fallout 3 build from the game mode.
Far Cry 5 was released with a creation tool in Arcade mode that has allowed players to create a variety of locations. Though the game is set in Hope County, Montana, many Arcade creations look like nothing from the campaign. Gamers have used Arcade mode to make Skyrim's Breezehome, Blockbuster Video, and Far Cry 2 environments. While Far Cry 6 was released in 2021, Arcade mode was notably absent. This has resulted in many creative fans reverting to the prior game to express themselves. One gamer has built Fallout 3's Megaton using the Far Cry 5 Arcade tools.
YouTuber Mojo Swoptops recently shared a video of their Far Cry 5 Arcade creation. The build is based on Megaton, which is often the first city that players will encounter after escaping Fallout 3's Vault 101. The video begins with the player entering the city under a welcome sign and walking down the hill to the undetonated bomb the location is named after. Beyond the item clutter reflecting the post-apocalyptic landscape, some iconic Megaton scenery includes the leaking pipes, the irradiated pond under the bomb, and the multiple layers of buildings. While the bomb doesn't look exactly as it does in Fallout 3, the surrounding area makes it clearer.
Emphasizing the nature of their creation, Mojo Swoptops has also applied the Fallout 3 UI to their Megaton tour. Given that the location is missing the familiarFallout 3 NPCs, there are fewer things to do in this version of Megaton. Players won't be able to start the quest to blow up Megaton in Moriarty's Saloon, they can't join the Church of the Children of Atom, and they can't help Moira with her Wasteland Survival Guide. While it isn't as alive as the real Megaton, this creation highlights just how detailed the worlds players create in Arcade
