Final Fantasy series creator Hironobu Sakaguchi's latest game, Fantasian, could be making its way on other platforms very soon, according to rumors circulating online.
Earlier today, well-known leaker Midori revealed that a former Apple Arcade exclusive will soon be announced for multiple platforms without hinting at which game will make the jump. X/Twitter user Genki mentioned Hironobu Sakaguchi's Fantasian, and Midori's reply seems to suggest the unique JRPG by Mistwalker will be the one making the jump.
The Final Fantasy series creator's latest JRPG release on other platforms would be very welcome, but it wouldn't really be surprising. Last year, Hironobu Sakaguchi mentioned during the MAGIC 2023 anime and game festival that he is aware of the demand for a PC version of the game and a sequel and that he is open to both. Hopefully, the time has come for more players to experience one of Mistwalker's most visually unique games.
Before releasing Fantasian, the development team headed by the creator of the Final Fantasy series released plenty of other JRPGs, including Lost Odyssey and Blue Dragon, both launched on Xbox 360 years ago. With rumors of next week's Xbox Showcase being interesting for fans of Xbox 360-era JRPGs and Fantasian launching on other platforms, it seems like Mistwalker may be coming back into the JRPG spotlight very soon.
Fantasian is now available as part of the Apple Arcade service. We will let you know if the game is indeed releasing on other platforms as soon as an announcement is made, so stay tuned for all the latest news.
