Each new expansion in raises the Power level cap for each activity. This used to happen with the release of another Season, but Bungie has shifted away from this model. Guardians no longer need to scramble for new gear to climb up to the cap as frequently. Now that has been released, the Power level cap has risen to 2,000. Guardians will slowly increase their strength, but some extra understanding will streamline this process.
Before challenging high-level activities with a new Prismatic build in , Guardians should ensure they are close to the recommended Power listed for the selected difficulty. It makes sense to want to rush end-game content for the extra loot, but this will do a disservice to both yourself and your fellow Guardians. Power level determines how much damage you deal to enemies and how much you take in return. Not only will foes hurt more in difficult activities, but the enemy density will also increase. Reaching the Power cap of an expansion is more complicated than you might think.
