Poncle has provided an update on the status of Vampire Survivors’ release for PlayStation consoles.
It was announced in April that the studio was planning to bring the game to PS4 and PS5 this summer.
Two and a half months later, with the summer having now begun, Poncle offered the following update on X.
“As it’s now summer we’ve had a lot of people asking when the PlayStation release will be happening,” it said.
“We want to keep you all updated, as we still don’t have a release date to share, but wanted to let you know why.
“This is the first time we’re going through submission processes on PlayStation so it’s taking a little longer than usual.
“We’re also doing some trial and error on Trophies to ensure we get them right.
“BUT we’ll let you know ASAP when we have a solid date!”
Vampire Survivors is a roguelike shoot ’em up which sees players choosing one of numerous characters, who then automatically attack as the player fights through waves of monsters with the aim being to survive for as long as possible.
The game was released for PC, Mac, Xbox consoles and mobile in 2022, before hitting Switch last year.
It was well received by critics, earnings it scores ranging from 86 to 95 on review aggregations site Metacritic.
Vampire Survivors won Action Game of the Year at last year’s DICE Awards, as well as the Best Game and Best Design prizes at the BAFTA Games Awards.
Plans to bring Vampire Survivors to PlayStation consoles were announced alongside Contra-themed DLC for the game, which was released for other platforms in May.
