Several new characters and stages have been found in a datamine of MultiVersus.
Images circulating social media show yet-to-be-announced characters, such as Marceline from Adventure Time, as well as stages based on Barbie and Harry Potter.
The stages are clearly in very early stages and there’s no indication that they’ll definitely make it into the full game, but it’s an interesting look at what Warner Bros. Discovery properties that make join the title.
Should the content make it into the game, it would mark the first appearance of some of Warner Bros.’ biggest properties, including the Wizarding World.
Harry Potter characters were included in some of the earliest pitch documents for the games, so it’s unknown why it has taken so long to include them in the fighter, especially following the success of Hogwarts Legacy.
Earlier this week, Warner Bros. Games acquired Player First Games, the studio behind MultiVersus.
Following the acquisition, the Los Angeles-based studio will continue to be run by co-founders Tony Huynh and Chris White.
Player First Games head and MultiVersus director Huynh, and head of technology White, will report to Carlos Barbosa, vice president and studio head of Warner Bros. Games San Diego.
The San Diego studio, which is currently providing production support and live management for MultiVersus, was established in 2019 and is focused on the creation of free-to-play, cross-platform titles.
Samurai Jack will join MultiVersus when Season 2 launches on July 23.
