Fall’s Virginia Gardner & Grace Caroline Currey will swap a precarious tower for wild dogs as the pair reunite for the survival horror movie reimagining .
The pair played two women trapped on a 2,000-foot communications tower in the successful 2022 survival thriller Fall from Scott Mann. Now, in The Breed, they will play characters who search for abandoned mutts on a remote island, only to find themselves up against a pack of vicious dogs.
The movie is a reimagining of the Wes Craven-produced film of the same name. Released in 2006, the Nicholas Mastandrea-directed film was poorly received. it earned a paltry 27% critics score on Rotten Tomatoes. Additionally, audience scores were equally poor.
The new version is billed as an unconventional reimagining, but it’s not known why that is just yet. A tentative 2025 release window is penciled in, with filming taking place in Guatemala.
The Breed will be directed by sibling filmmaker duo Nathan and Griff Furst. They will also produce the film.
Grace Caroline Currey has starred in the Shazam! movies and in horror, she had a role in 2017’s Annabelle: Creation. Virginia Gardner has had roles in Project Almanac, Starfish, and the 2018 Halloween movie.
