Iconic actor Mads Mikkelson will not be returning for Death Stranding 2: On the Beach, creator Hideo Kojima has confirmed, with the tragic tale of his character, Cliff Unger, having been resolved in the original Death Stranding.Kojima confirmed the news on Twitter in response to fan inquiries about the star returning.
Mikkelson's performance as the tortured soldier, Cliff, was compelling, and players who saw Death Stranding through to the bitter end likely won't be too surprised to hear this news. Though, to be fair, we thought we had seen the last of Troy Baker's character, Higgs, as well. Along with Baker, Norman Reedus will return as protagonist Sam Porter Bridges, and Lea Seydoux will reprise her role as the mysterious Fragile.
