A tiny little indie game called Vampire Survivors (which isn't even available on PlayStation platforms, mind you) just beat out both God of War Ragnarok and Elden Ring to win the British Academy of Film and Television Arts (BAFTA) award for Best Game. Can you believe that?!
All kidding aside, Vampire Survivors was something of a phenomenon in 2022, and you would have to be living under a rock (or living offline) to have missed it, blowing up from obscurity and becoming something of an industry darling in the process. Beneath a deceptively simplistic veneer lies a fiendishly addictive core gameplay loop that earned developer Luca Galante, AKA Poncle, another accolade this year, scoring the BAFTA for Game Design as well.
To date, there has been no news regarding the smash hit coming to PlayStation, indicating there is likely an exclusivity agreement of some kind in place or something preventing it from doing so. Perhaps we will be graced with access to it someday, but in the meantime, console yourself with one of the other prestige experiences on our platform of choice, like The Last of Us, which itself won Best Game back in 2014.
In somewhat related news, PlayStation legend Shuhei Yoshida was awarded a BAFTA Fellowship, the organisation's top honour.

So, a paid exclusive? But people said to me that Xbox doesn't do that, only PlayStation.
