Final Fantasy 16's Mind-Blowing PS5 Visuals Have Improved Drastically Since the Game Was Announced | Push Square
Longtime Final Fantasy fans, and gamers in general, know that the series brings the heat when it comes to cutting-edge visual fidelity, especially on new hardware. We all marvelled at the PS1 FMVs in Final Fantasy VII, and gaped open-mouthed at that metal AF opening cutscene in Final Fantasy X on PS2. Normally, we do our best to forget that the whole Fabula Nova Crystallis detour on PS3 ever happened (but even those games were pretty), and XV was a showcase title for PS4 and still looks decent today.
Final Fantasy XVI will continue this tradition, managing to ratchet things up still further, even since they first announced the game. Check out the quality on display in the below comparison images, helpfully compiled by LegionzGaming over on Twitter:
It's a pretty impressive glow-up, and it's probably safe to say Final Fantasy XVI will blow our minds when it launches on 22nd June, regardless of whether you are newer to the series or a lifelong veteran.
