New World’s latest Forged in Aeternum is out, and this time the video features another community Q&A round, covering everything from game performance, solo Expeditions, the upcoming Sandworm Elite Trial, and more.
While the team is not currently working on solo Expeditions/dungeons, they are including more solo content in their updates, though some of it has been as part of questlines. More outside of questlines is likely down the line.
Answering a question about UI and performance, these are always something they look to revisit. So we should expect revisions. As Live Lead Katy Kaszynski, says, they’re always looking to turn a good state “into a great state” regarding performance.
The PvP reward track will get an overhaul soon from 1-20, to better prepare players for PvP,so this will include more Umbral Shards. The feedback on this showed that things weren’t where they need to be yet.
That Sandworm that has beentalked about for months now? They’re working on that, and in response to a question on whether this will be more gated or accessible to all, planning for it to be the latter, but they wanted to be one of the toughest challenges so they're looking for the balance between open and going to test you.
There’s also a new devblog to accompany the video, featuring additional community questions for the team. Those questions, which were answered by Creative Director David Verfaillie, cover the subject of minigames and other activities, the existence of Expedition caps, and the mercenary system, following recent changes.
On the subject of Mutation caps, these will remain, as not many hit the caps, but they were put into place for a reason. When they eventually revisit the system, they’re not closed to changes, though.
