The first official teaser for the Hunger Games prequel, The Hunger Games: The Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes has been released.
Lionsgate's The Hunger Games: The Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes follows the story of the tenth annual Games, where an 18-year-old Coriolanus Snow is preparing to be a mentor for the first time. When he gets assigned to the female Tribute from District 12, he must decide between what is best for the Games, the House of Snow, or himself.

The teaser gives fans of the Hunger Games series a snowy glimpse at the question facing the film's characters: «Who is a songbird, and who is a snake?» The teaser was released during the 2022 MTV Movie & TV Awards on June 5. The announcement was accompanied by another one last week, stating that Rachel Zegler is set to play the leading role of Lucy Gray Baird. Zegler, who is also a bit of a newcomer, is best known for her leading role in Steven Spielberg's West Side Story as Maria.
