Now that Lionsgate is officially making the new The Hunger Games prequel, the film has been adding quite a bit of cast in a very short period of time. The latest addition to The Hunger Games: The Ballad Of Songbirds And Snakes cast is none other than Euphoria star Hunter Schafer.
Lionsgate has been making one announcement after another, and it appears the cast is going to be quite the star-studded affair. It seems that Hunter Schafer could be among the key headliners of the cast of The Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes as she'll play the cousin and confidant of Coriolanus Snow, Tigris.

That would seem to mean that Schafer will play one of the main villains of this new Hunger Games prequel, starring opposite Tom Blyth and Rachel Zegler. Zegler takes on the role of Lucy Gray, the girl tribute from the impoverished District 12. While all three of these actors are new to the series, those in charge of the project appear to be old hands.
Francis Lawrence, who directed three of the four original The Hunger Games movies, is returning to do this new prequel. Nina Jacobson and her partner Brad Simpson are also back as producers. This is the first blockbuster film or really film of any kind that Schafer has appeared in after breaking out in her role as Jules in Euphoria.
According to The Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes, the prequel takes place years ahead of the events in The Hunger Games' original films. Not-yet-President Coriolanus Snow is an 18-year-old boy that is trying to salvage the reputation of a family whose strength and influence are on the decline.
