Recently, Meta has introduced 3D Avatars for Facebook, Messenger as well as Instagram, which allows users to create and customize a digital Bitmoji that resembles you. From hair, skin colour, eyes, outfits, to accessories, you can create your own avatar the way you want. Now, Meta-owned WhatsApp is planning to follow! Earlier, WhatsApp had showed its interest in bringing a new feature for video calls that may allow users to replace themselves with a virtual customised avatar.
In the latest report by the WhatsApp update tracker, WabetaInfo confirmed that the instant messaging app is working on avatars, a new way to be 'you' on WhatsApp. “Thanks to avatars, you may be able to use an avatar as a mask while placing video calls (but probably it will take a long time before being available to users),” the WabetaInfo report mentioned. So, don't hold your breath as WhatsApp avatars are not going to be arriving anytime soon.
Not just that, you will be able to use the Avatars as fashion stickers to share with your contacts just like on Instagram or Facebook. The report also announced that in the latest WhatsApp beta for Android 2.22.16.11 update, the company is still working on its avatars project.
