The PlayStation Plus Essential games for August 2022 may have leaked online. PlayStation Plus Essential is the new PS+, as in, it has the same benefits as the old PS+, while PlayStation Plus Extra and PlayStation Plus Premium are the ones with an expanded library.
Sony's new tiered system for PlayStation Plus has gone off to a great start, at least in terms of the Essential and Extra tiers. The most recent Essential games included Crash Bandicoot 4 and The Dark Pictures: Man of Medan, while the most recent Extra games included Final Fantasy VII Remake Intergrade, a day one launch for Stray, and several Assassin's Creed games. The new PlayStation Plus has been described as Sony's equivalent to Xbox Game Pass and the service has been hitting it out of the park, especially during a lull in Microsoft's offerings.

The same website that correctly leaked the July 2022 PlayStation Plus games has revealed what's in store for August 2022. According to Nibel on Twitter, French gaming website Dealabs has revealed that the August 2022 PlayStation Plus Essential games are Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 1+2 on PS5/PS5, Yakuza: Like A Dragon on PS4/PS5, and Little Nightmares on PS4. It bears mentioning that this is a leak and should be taken with a grain of salt until Sony makes an official announcement.
