The producer of Indiana Jones 5 is making a bold prediction for the upcoming film. Set to open in theaters on June 30, 2023, marks fifteen years since the last movie, Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull, was released. Anticipation is high for what is being marketed as the final installment in the Indiana Jones film series, which sees Ford v Ferrari director James Mangold step into the director's chair from long-time franchise helmer Steven Spielberg.

In 2013, shortly after Disney purchased Lucasfilm, Paramount Pictures sold the rights to make future Indiana Jones movies to Disney. While Disney initially was focused solely on Star Wars, they announced development on Indiana Jones 5 in 2016. Since then, the film has undergone several changes behind the scenes and delayed multiple times, with filming beginning in June 2021 and concluding in February 2022.
