Marvel Comics has introduced a brand new Jessica Jones variant who has become Captain America with her own shield. In The Variants #1, a dreadful day turns even more bizarre when Jones encounters a woman who appears to be her variant and another Jessica who claims to be Captain America. The Multiverse version of Jones makes quite an entrance, showcasing her shield skills while introducing herself to the confused hero.
Jessica Jones has evolved quite a bit in her time in the Marvel Universe. Originally known as the hero Jewel, with superhuman strength and invulnerability, Jones became a private investigator opting to solve tricky cases and use her powers to help when needed. She is married to Luke Cage and has a daughter with her fellow Defender hero named Danielle. Recently, she assisted Daredevil in the Devil's Reign event while helping Cage become the new mayor of New York City. The Variants from Marvel Comics is exploring Jones in a different way, as the Gail Simone, Phil Noto, and VC's Cory Petit series will introduce new versions of the popular character from across the Multiverse — starting with Captain America.
