With a newly revealed storyline from the Marvel and Disney+ series Echo, Jessica Jones’ MCU return just got a lot more likely. The MCU’s Phase 4 has brought more twists and turns than ever with the introduction of the Multiverse. This, plus the introduction of short series on Disney+ has greatly expanded the possibility for crossovers and both old and new characters to appear in Marvel content.
Daredevil, Jessica Jones (arguably the strongest of The Defenders), Luke Cage and Iron Fist are all popular Marvel characters in both the comics and their Netflix series, however they were seldom included in the MCU’s blockbuster movies, nor did they interact with other MCU characters. This changed however, when Charlie Cox returned as Daredevil in Spider-Man: No Way Home and Kingpin returned in Hawkeye. The characters also have newfound popularity after their titular shows were moved from Netflix to Disney+, more closely integrating the content with the greater MCU.

With Daredevil and Kingpin already appearing in the MCU, it seems inevitable other characters from the former Netflix shows will return in some capacity. Both Daredevil and Kingpin are also confirmed to appear in the upcoming Disney+ series Echo, which continues Maya’s (Echo’s) story from Hawkeye. Interestingly, they may not be the only ones reprising their roles. With the confirmation of a key subplot from Echo, the long-awaited Jessica Jones return just got a lot more likely.
