Yveltal is back in Pokémon Go, with players around the globe finally being able to catch this iconic creature in Niantic's perennially popular mobile game.
Yveltal is immediately recognisable as the winged cover star of Pokémon Y, the Nintendo 3DS game that launched in 2013 and introduced players to the Kalos region.
Yveltal is closely associated with Xerneas, cover star of Pokémon X.
But how can you actually catch yourself an Yveltal in Pokémon Go? Keep on reading for all the essential information about its weaknesses, counters and Raid Battle timings.
Yveltal first arrived in the game way back on Tuesday 18th May 2021, but fans will remember that it only stuck around for a few days.
Flash forward to the present day, and Yveltal is back in Pokémon Go again for a limited time only!
From Wednesday 19th June 2024 until 10am on Friday 28th June 2024, you'll be able to catch Yveltal in 5-Star Raid Battles.
Simply open up the game, pore over your nearby raids, and soon enough you should be able to find an Yveltal and challenge it to a fight along with some other players.
Of course, you'll want to prey on Yveltal's weaknesses (more on those below) by deploying some strong counters.
And when it comes time to actually throwing balls at Yveltal, a Golden Razz Berry wouldn't hurt your chances of catching one!
The Pokémon Go blog confirmed long ago that Yveltal will be classed as a Dark and Flying-type Pokémon in the game.
This means that Yveltal is weak against Electric, Fairy, Ice and Rock-type attacks.

If you have a particularly powerful Pokémon that falls into any of those groups that Yveltal is weak against (that's Electric, Fairy, Ice and Rock), you'd be wise to use them in those Raid Battles.
If you're lucky enough to have a Shadow Raikou, a Shadow Zapdos or a Zekrom, those are considered to be some of the best Pokémon to use as counters against Yveltal.
